Karen Feagins
Karen Feagins is an award-winning journalist with a deep passion for storytelling and more than two decades of experience in broadcast news and documentary production. She began her career in front of the camera as a television reporter and anchor, later moving into executive roles where she shaped newsrooms, mentored reporters, and led teams to deliver compelling, community-focused content.
Karen's journalism roots are grounded in curiosity, empathy, and a belief that everyone has a story worth telling. She has interviewed thousands of people-- from public officials to everyday neighbors and produced in-depth oral history projects including Voices of the First Coast.
Karen's love for Waffle House runs deep. Growing up in a small town where it was one of the only places open late, many of her favorite high school memories ended at Waffle House. What's always drawn her back is the sense that anything can happen. It's a place where strangers talk to each other and where stories unfold. That spirit of connection is what inspired Waffle House Legends, a storytelling project that captures the humanity found there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
